Target Dad
Single dad Bucky and his daughter are frequent Target shoppers and catch the eye of a single mom.

His forearms were resting on the shopping cart as he pushed it along, nose to nose with his young daughter who was sitting and smiling sweetly at him.
“Miss Sophia, today we are shopping for Uncle Steve’s birthday. Which means what?”
I couldn’t help but watch. His dark brown hair was loosely tied in a bun, strays laying on the nape of his neck. His smile was tender. It was obvious that the little girl, an exact replica of him, was his entire world.
Her little hands cupped his cheeks and she pouted playfully. “No toys for me today.”
“That’s right little one.” The man kissed her nose, then picked up a dress shirt, examining it then mumbled to himself, “If only I would ever follow up on that.”
I bit my lip, but a giggle escaped. He looked over and I waved him off. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. She’s adorable.” I walked away, noticing that this most masculine sexy human being I have ever seen was actually blushing.
“Yeah, thanks.” Thank God I had my own buggy to steady myself or my wobbly legs would have given out and left me an embarrassing mess on the sales floor. I turned and caught a glimpse of him. The shy smile on his lowered head was almost hidden by the collar of his jacket, but I saw it and I almost wished I hadn’t. I stumbled over my own two feet then grabbed onto the nearest shelf. Holy hell, I couldn’t think. I couldn’t breathe. Just…wow!
“Who was that lady daddy?”
“I don’t know baby girl, but she said you’re adorable, so I think she needs glasses.” They both started to laugh and she was squealing. The man was obviously tickling her. “DADDY STOP! STAAAAAPPPPPHHHHH!!!”
It has to be illegal for a man to be that sexy and that great with his daughter. I need me one of those. Someday.

Walking up from the electronics, I was on my way out when I heard the adorable squeals coming from, no surprise, the toy department. I sighed happily as I saw them both looking at dolls.
The man saw me and sighed in frustration, but he was far from it considering the smile on his face.
I smirked. “Caved, huh?”
She was not interested in me. No way! There were Barbies galore in her presence.
“Oh, you just don’t *know* the power this little one has over her daddy.” He looked over at her with such loving eyes it made my heart melt.
I nodded. “I see that. My mom was the one that spoiled me. She’s a lucky girl.” My eyes held his for a second too long and a whimper escaped my mouth. I swallowed hard and looked away. “Well hey, good a have day. See ya.”
I turned my buggy a little too quickly, realizing what I had just said, and knocked over a few boxes of toys on display. “Shit.” This CAN’T be happening, I thought to myself.
“Sophia, do NOT stand in that cart.” The man’s voice was stern but kind. He crouched on the floor with me, picking up the toys. I could feel him looking at me.
“Please, tend to your daughter. I can handle this. It was my fault anyway.” I couldn’t look at him. Good a have day? He must think I’m an idiot!
He huffed goodnaturedly. “It’s no problem. Don’t worry about it.” Our hands were centimeters apart when he nudged my finger. “Hey,” he whispered. I looked up hesitantly and saw the most beautiful smile on that handsome face. “How ‘bout I buy her that doll, and we all go for ice cream.”
