Christmas Shopping

Bucky Barnes fluffy drabble

It was only a couple of days to go until Christmas and you were right in the middle of the groceries for the family dinner. You checked your list on your phone, happily seeing that there was only one item missing.

Parmesan cheese.

You walked to the cheese section, which was almost empty. What the hell, is Christmas secretly the holiday of cheese? You started to search but the only Parmesan you could find was in the top shelf and you couldn’t reach it. Why are these shelves so high? There are small citizens in this place, come on!

With a groan you tried to act normal and reach the cheese at the same time. It wasn’t easy and it must looked ridiculous.

You looked around and spotted the tallest person in the aisle.

‘Hey! Umm.. sorry! Sir!’ You tried to draw attention to yourself as you walked to him.

‘Hey! Yes? Can I help?’ He asked with a soft smile and a curious look. Oh, he was something. His smile made your heart melt and his blue eyes made you forgot what the hell you actually wanted from him.

‘Umm…I need some cheese but I can’t reach it. Can you please help?’ You asked with puppy eyes and a hoping smile.

‘Sure.’ He laughed quietly and followed you back to your cart.

‘It’s that one!’ You pointed to your targeted Parmesan raising onto you tiptoes and stretching your arm.

The handsome stranger easily picked one and handed it to you.

‘There you go!’ He smiled and couldn’t contained his laughter at you happy sound and smile as you finally got your lay item.

‘Thank you!’ You placed the cheese in you cart still looking very happy and content which honestly amazed the kind brown haired man.

‘Your welcome!’ He grinned unable to look away from you. ‘Umm, could you help me too, please?’ He asked a bit shy , scratching the back of his neck nervously.

‘Of course!’ You nodded fast and waited for his question.

‘So, I should buy some chocolate to my niece but I don’t meet her really often and I don’t really eat chocolate either, so I’m in a bit of a trouble.’ He explained while nervously licking his lips, making you bite you own.

‘Oh, I love chocolate, I’m happy to help!’ You offered with a big smile and left the diary section quickly.

‘Is she young?’ You asked turning to the kind stranger. He suddenly turned his head to the chocolates from you, but he wasn’t fast enough.

‘Not that young. She is seventeen…’

‘Oh, I think she will love this!’ You reached out suddenly to get a raspberry flavoured dark chocolate. ‘It’s Belgian, maybe not the cheapest, but the best!’ Your excited voice made his lips turn into a smile again. You were just too adorable.

‘Alright than! Thank you! I’ll get this!’ His fingers grabbed the chocolate in your hands and put it in the cart. As you turned your attention back to the sweetens he gave you a quick once over before his eyes settled on your face again. You were so happy while everyone was stressed and mad or freaked out around you, and it amazed him endlessly.

‘So, I’m done I think.’ He spoke up bringing you back to the earth from chocolate heaven.

‘Yeah, me too!’ You quickly got a plain dark chocolate and started to walk to the cassiers.

The line was faster than you thought and by the time you noticed the handsome man was paying in front of you. He just made it back to the line because he forgot something and had to run for it.

‘Merry Christmas!’ He gave you the same heart melting smile and left with a wave.

‘To you too!’ You waved and stepped next to the cassier and wanted to pay when you noticed he left something there.

You grabbed it and wanted to shout after him but he was gone, and you had no idea about his name. With a sigh you looked at the chocolate in your hands just to notice the blue handwriting on the package. It was his phone number followed by his nicely formed letters:

‘Happy holidays, doll!

Bucky’
